As I scoured through amazon (as I must do for a lot of products I buy), I came across many other similar product listings that had great overall ratings with a ton of individually negative ones attached. I��m on a tight budget and I��m not willing to buy something just cuz it��s cheaper when I can see that there��s a lot of disappointment from folks who bought it already. This one seemed legit with its reviews so I went for it, despite it being a little more costly than others.
But after spending one night on them they were visibly stained. So I washed them on a delicate cycle in my machine with a gentle detergent. All of the stains did not come out. So now when I make my bed, I just slip my regular pillowcases over these and remove them at bedtime.
is the most I��ve ever paid for a damn pillowcase but let me just say, it is totally worth it, especially for those of us who have curly (short) hair and suffer from extreme bedhead. In a lot of other reviews, people talked about silk cases keeping their face less wrinkled and cooler throughout the night - I think I��ve definitely noticed these changes as well, though I mostly cared about handling my hair better.
Update: I bought a second set of these pillowcases in white. No issues at all with stains. Love them so much, I just ordered a third set.
The instructions that come with this item advise hand washing although they say you can wash them on a gentle cycle in a machine. I washed them by hand prior to use and they came out beautifully plus they dry very quickly.
